‘’I always believed that I could win but until the last point, until we left the court, anything could change

‘’I had to keep focused and not do something different because lose anytime if I lose concentration.’’

It was Salem’s first career win against a top ten player like Rodriguez, Zahed also reveal that is his first win after a dozen tries as Rodriguez effortlessly beat him in a three game at the Hong Kong Open in November.

Zahed will be playing against another Egyptian, close friend and the third seed, World No.10-Mohamed Abouelghar.

This will be a rematch for both players seen the last encounter in the finals of the Guatamala few years back where Abouelgar won that game.

Salem says: ‘’He is a very good player and a very good friend of mine, I am looking forward to a good, clean and fair match.’’

Abouelghar who beat England’s Adrian Waller I an 11-2 game, came back strong to win the fifth game, after Waller won the fourth game.
